… This month’s First Friday Program will feature a photographic tour of Palmetto Bluff by Marge Agin. A resident of the Bluff, Mrs. Agin will showcase an extraordinary collection of images she has taken of landscapes, plants and animals around the property. The program begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel on January 4.

… A Furniture & Accessories Sale will be held at the Holiday Coastal Cottage on Thursday, January 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Only checks will be accepted and all items – available to property owners at wholesale prices – must be picked up the day of the sale. The home is located 43 Myrtle View Street in The Point.

… A Property Owner Oyster Roast/Wild Game Dinner will be held at Moreland Landing on Friday, January 18. In addition to a bounty of May River oysters and wild game prepared by the Inn’s talented chefs, the dinner will include a Wildlife Management Team presentation on Palmetto Bluff’s former use as a hunting and fishing retreat. Longfield Stables is now accepting stall reservations for property owners. The state-of-the-art equestrian facilities are expected to open in March. Owners who reserve stalls will receive updates as construction proceeds and an exact opening date is determined. Property owners receive a $150 deduction from monthly boarding rates, as well as a 30% discount on temporary stabling rates, and free haul-in and day usage of riding areas. Longfield Stables will open reservations to the public beginning in February 2008. … The third annual Wilson Weekend will be held February 1-3. The theme of this year’s event is the speakeasy culture of 1924, when Prohibition was in effect and the Wilson family was celebrating the Jazz Age and plentiful times. … The Arts Commission is accepting donations to its Wilson Weekend Silent Auction. Works of art, tickets to performances and games, vacation opportunities and other donations are welcome and are 100% tax deductible. The most popular auction item from last year’s Wilson Weekend was a painting donated by a property owner who, after moving to the area, found that the piece did not fit her new living space. … A Grand Opening event will be held for the Wilson Landing Ships Store on Saturday, February 2 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Ships Store will be the retail outlet, information center and gathering place for marine and outdoor activities, including boat storage and Boat Club operations.

… Property owners may also tour the Canoe Club facilities on Saturday, February 2. Comprised of a restaurant, pool and fitness center, and movement studio, the Canoe Club is scheduled to open March 1.

… The next Property Owner Orientation will be held on Friday, February 22 at the River House. This event enables property owners to meet the Palmetto Bluff Management Team and gain a greater understanding of the services of the Property Owners Association, Palmetto Bluff Club, May River Golf Club, Inn and Conservancy. A continental breakfast begins at 9:00 a.m., followed by the program at 10:00 a.m., lunch at noon and an optional Open House at the Design Review Center. … RT’s Market is offering a monthly Wine Tasting on the second Friday of each month in 2008. Food samples will also be available, and the featured wine may be purchased at a 10% discount during this time. Hargray Communications is offering new subscription bundles to Palmetto Bluff homes, allowing for a variety of voice, video and Internet services, including a Palmetto Bluff-exclusive basic Internet/high-speed data service of 5Mbps. … Statements for 2008 general and neighborhood assessments and Palmetto Bluff Club dues were mailed in December. Payments will be considered delinquent if not paid in full by January 15 (except for Wilson Center and West Wilson Trust assessments, which are billed on a quarterly basis). If assessments remain unpaid on February 15, a 12% interest charge will begin accruing. If payment is 90 days late, a letter will be issued initiating a lien process against the property.

… In the event of fire or a life-threatening situation, property owners should call 911 directly, which allows responders to pinpoint the exact location of the emergency and dispatch the appropriate personnel as quickly as possible. Following the 911 call, Security should be notified at 843.706.6000. For non-fire and non-medical matters, owners should simply call the Security number.
