Wilson Weekend has arrived! Palmetto
Bluff will step back in time this weekend to 1918,
when U.S. troops were helping turn the tide in World
War I, the indomitable American spirit was poised
to burst forth in the Roaring Twenties, and a weekend
with the Wilson Family was the epitome of Southern
elegance and style. Look for photos and reports at
PB Online and in the Spring issue of Cornerstones.
Please note that all dining venues will be closed
for Wilson Weekend events from Friday at 2:00 p.m.
to noon on Sunday.

A Boatyard Customer Preview is scheduled
for Saturday, February 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m. at Wilson Landing. Boat owners are invited to
tour the new facility, and Marine staff will be on
hand to answer questions and assist with boat storage

Kayakers, canoeists and other inland watercraft users
now have more waters to navigate. The inland Water
Trail System was expanded on Wednesday, January
31 with the removal of the earthen dam separating
the Wilson and South Wilson lakes, creating one continuous
waterway spanning more than a mile in length.

Due to Wilson Weekend activities, this month’s
First Friday lecture will be held a week later, on
Friday, February 9. Titled “Love is in the Air,”
this Valentine’s-themed program will take a
look at the amorous ways of Lowcountry wildlife. The

The Recreation Department has a fleet of new
bicycles. The lightweight, aluminum-frame
models are available in men’s and women’s
styles, and adult and junior sizes. A tandem model
and pull-behind child carts are available as well.

Bluff Club member benefit.

Palmetto Bluff’s first interest group has formed!
The Women of Palmetto Bluff is a
group of property owners who have come together to
share common interests and serve their community.
The group’s first service project, a “Women
Build” Habitat for Humanity house, is already
in the planning stages. The Women of Palmetto Bluff
will hold a lunch meeting at the home of Jan Spears
on Friday, February 16 to discuss the project and
gain input in further developing the group. Mrs. Spears’
home is located at 73 Myrtle View Street in The Point.
