… The Conservancy is conducting a Travel Survey to gauge property owner interest in ecotours with AAA Vacations and International Expeditions, a world leader in ecotourism and nature travel. Potential destinations include the Amazon River, Belize and Tikal, the Galapagos Islands, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa. … Due to Wilson Weekend, Buffalo’s and the River House Dining Room will be closed from Friday, February 1 at 2:00 p.m. to noon on Sunday, February 3. Property owners not attending Wilson Weekend may dine at the May River Grill during normal hours of operation. … RT’s Market’s next Wine Tasting will be held on Friday, February 8 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This month’s featured wines are Benefizio Pomino Bianco, Arnold Palmer Cabernet Sauvignon and Renwood Port. … The Conservancy will present “Love Is In The Air”, a Valentine’s themed wildlife lecture, on Saturday, February 16, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel. Leslie Ruyle, a wildlife behavior researcher from the University of Georgia, will discuss the diversity of mating practices in nature. This event will be held in lieu of a regular First Friday lecture in February.

… A Wine Dinner featuring Michael Silacci of Opus One will be held on Tuesday, February 26 at the River House Wine Cellar. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. and includes a cocktail hour prior to dinner. … A Property Owner Orientation will be held on Friday, February 22 at the River House. Attendees will meet the Palmetto Bluff Management Team and gain a greater understanding of the services of the Property Owners Association, Palmetto Bluff Club, May River Golf Club, Inn and Conservancy. A continental breakfast begins at 9:00 a.m., followed by the program at 10:00 a.m., lunch at noon and an optional Open House at the Design Review Center. … The Security Department’s “Away From Home” program ensures your Palmetto Bluff home will be monitored whenever you travel. Simply fill out an Away From Home form, available at the Main Gate, and a patrol officer will conduct periodic checks of your residence while you are away. The form also alerts Security of arrangements such as newspaper delivery and activation of alarm and sprinkler systems.

… The Ships Store at Wilson Landing will host a Grand Opening event for property owners on Saturday, March 1. A cookout will be held from noon to 2:00 p.m. – to R.S.V.P., contact Lindsay Hocking (843.706.6022, email), or drop in anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to browse the product selection, which will include a variety of nautical gifts, books and apparel.

The Grace is out of service until March for annual maintenance and continued restoration work. The vessel is expected to be back in time for a Property Owner Cruise on Friday, March 14 – watch PB Online and next month’s issue of Tidings for details.
