… The annual July Fourth Parade kicks off the holiday weekend on Friday, July 4. Show your patriotic spirit by decorating a golf cart, GEM car, bicycle – or even your dog! Entries will be judged based on one of two themes: Patriotic and Best Representation of Palmetto Bluff. Decorating supplies will be available for the Patriotic theme. Registration and decorating begins in the RT’s Market parking lot at 9 a.m. Golf carts and bicycles may be rented at the Carriage House on a first-come, first-serve basis. The parade lineup will begin at 10:30 a.m.
… Club Car will have demo models on site during the July Fourth Parade setup. Demos will be available for property owner use in the parade on a first-come, first-serve basis. After the parade, the Club Car demos will be available for complimentary use to property owners (limit one day at a time, please) through July 12. Cars may be checked out from RT’s – just stop by and show a valid driver's license, or call ahead (843.706.3448) to check on availability.

… The Holiday Weekend features a number of other recreational and social opportunities, including:
- Poolside cookouts at the Canoe Club – July 4-5, noon to 3 p.m. each day.
- Breakfast at Wimbledon socials at the May River Grill – July 5-6, 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. each day. Cost is $17 for Palmetto Bluff Club members ($8 children ages 5-12). RSVP to 843.706.6603.
- Tennis Round-Robin competition on grass at the Wilson Lawn & Racquet Club – July 6, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Complimentary. A croquet lawn has been set up as a grass tennis court and is available for casual play in the coming weeks. Players are encouraged to wear traditional all-white tennis attire.
- Longfield Stables Open House – July 5, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Bicycles are restricted from the Stables grounds, so please arrive by car or on foot.
- Lowcountry Boil at Moreland – July 5, trolleys depart River House at 6:15, 6:30, 6:45, 7 p.m. PB Club members $55++ (adult), $20++ (children 5-10 years). RSVP to 843.706.6515.

… The May River Golf Course and May River Grill will be closed July 7-9 while annual maintenance is conducted on the course. Those facilities will also be closed July 21-23, with tee times resuming at noon on July 24. The pro shop and practice facilities will remain open throughout both periods.
… A Conservancy Lecture and Property Owner Grace Cruise will be held on Friday, July 11. Researcher Michelle Johnston will present her findings on alligators at Palmetto Bluff, then she and Kimberly Andrews will discuss local wildlife during the Grace cruise. The lecture begins at the Conservancy Nature Center at 5 p.m. The cruise sails from the Canoe Club Dock at 6 p.m. Please RSVP for the cruise to Nick Dennis (843.706.6603, email) by July 9.
… Coffee with the GM will be held on Saturday, July 12 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Canoe Club Restaurant. This informal monthly gathering enables property owners to meet and discuss issues with General Manager Trip Shine and other members of the Palmetto Bluff Club management team.

… EarthCraft House Builder Training will be held on Friday, July 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the River House. Oldfield naturalist Marvin Bouknight will discuss these powerful flying predators and the important role they play in our environment. The event will begin at 7 p.m. in the Conservancy Nature Center.
… A Property Owner Orientation will be held on Friday, August 29 at the Canoe Club Restaurant. Attendees will gain a greater understanding of the Palmetto Bluff Club, Conservancy, Property Owners Association, Inn and May River Golf Club. A continental breakfast will be available beginning at 9 a.m. The program begins at 10 a.m., followed by lunch and a slide presentation at noon. … The Canoe Club offers weekly fitness classes including Yoga, Spinning, Prop Pilates and Tone & Stretch – click here to view the schedule. Classes are limited to 12 people, with the exception of Spinning, which is limited to 11. Entry is on a first-come first-serve basis, and all participants are asked to sign in. Classes are closed 5 minutes after the start time, as late arrivals are disruptive to other participants, and are a safety issue. Children must be at least 16 years of age, accompanied by an adult and have prior experience with the type of fitness class they are attending. Cell phones must be turned off.
… A Cancellation Policy is in effect for non-complimentary Palmetto Bluff Club events, such as themed dinners, oyster roasts and other fee-based gatherings. If you make a reservation and subsequently learn you cannot attend, please call Nick Dennis at 843.706.6603, preferably 24 hours in advance of the event. This will greatly help in managing food cost and staffing. A 50% cancellation fee (per person) will be assessed if a club member fails to cancel their reservation.
… The Palmetto Bluff Club has initiated a Guest Pass Policy for unaccompanied guests of members who wish to use Club recreational facilities. To register guests, please contact Nick Dennis (843.706.6603) with each guest’s name, the dates they will be visiting, and the ages of any children under 12. This policy is intended to ensure reasonable access to the Club facilities by property owner members, their families and their invited guests. Currently the Club has not instituted a daily access fee for guests of members. However, in the future such a fee may be necessary as our membership base grows and facilities usage approaches maximum capacity.
… Users of the Canoe Club (restaurant, pool and fitness center) are asked to access the facilities via Myrtle View Street in the Point. Due to forklift activity, Wilson Landing is an unsafe avenue to reach the Canoe Club on foot or bicycle.
… All visits to Longfield Stables, with the exception of Open House events such as the one on July 5, must be arranged in advance by calling 843.706.9559. Site tours are available, along with carriage rides and huntseat riding instruction.
