… Property owners are invited to a preview of the 2007 Holiday Coastal Cottage on Thursday, November 8 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Located at 43 Myrtle View Street in The Point, the Holiday Coastal Cottage is sponsored by Coastal Living and Cottage Living magazines and will be featured in the December issue of each publication. The home will open to the general public on November 26. Visiting hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays through January 4, with a $10-per-person contribution going to the Bluffton Historical Preservation Society. … Have you ever looked up at the night sky and wondered what the constellations were? Or watched a snake cross your path and puzzled over what kind it was? Have you heard of archaeological excavations on Palmetto Bluff and wanted to know more about our local history? The Conservancy’s First Friday lecture series is designed to answer such questions, and we would like your input in structuring programs and selecting speakers. “Incredible Edibles” will be the topic of November’s First Friday Program. Oldfield Naturalist Marvin Bouknight will discuss Lowcountry plants that have traditionally been used for food and medicine. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel on Friday, November 2.

… Wilson Landing will host a Boat Show on November 10-11. Pursuit, Parker, Maverick, Hewes and Pathfinder models will be on display along with Yamaha Outboard Motors and Palmetto Bluff’s own Boat Club vessels. Tyler Florence’s Lowcountry Celebration will be held November 16-18. Florence and Coastal Living magazine are teaming with Palmetto Bluff to offer culinary experiences including a cooking demonstration by the namesake host; a showcase of local chefs, growers, vintners and brewers; and an oyster roast and Lowcountry boil at Moreland. … The 2007 Gobbler Games will be held at the Wilson Lawn & Racquet Club on Friday, November 23 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will feature the dedication of a new basketball facility, as well as competitions in bocce, croquet, tennis and basketball. … A property owner holiday rate of $450 per night (two people maximum) is available for Inn cottages (with King bed) over Thanksgiving weekend. Excluding Thanksgiving and New Years, property owners receive a $300 rate on lagoon-view guest cottages through the end of the year. The non-holiday rate will increase to $350 based on availability beginning January 2. For reservations, call 866.706.6565.

… The Palmetto Bluff Club Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, December 8 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the River House Ballroom. … Congratulations to Butch Floyd, who teamed with his son Ryan to win the May River Golf Club’s 2007 Fall Member-Guest on October 12-13. The Floyd pairing won the Overall and Ribault Flight categories over runners-up Mark Newlin and Dan Cray. Other winners were Steve Swanson and Bill Cleary (Wilson Flight), John Henderson and Marv Lich (Vanderbilt Flight) and John Kern and Bob Evans (Estill Flight). The annual Club Championship will be held on November 9-11.

Palmetto Bluff Club accounts will be suspended if payment is 90 days delinquent for any of the following: Palmetto Bluff Trust general assessments, neighborhood assessments, Club dues or member charges. Members with suspended accounts will be denied Club charging privileges and access to amenities and social events.

… A letter explaining 2008 general and neighborhood assessments and Palmetto Bluff Club dues will be mailed later this month. Statements will be sent on December 15, with payments due on January 1. Payments will be considered delinquent if not paid in full by January 15 (except for Wilson Center and West Wilson Trust assessments, which are billed on a quarterly basis). If assessments remain unpaid on February 15, a 12% interest charge will begin accruing. If payment is 90 days late, a letter will be issued initiating a lien process against the property.

Headwaters is limited to Headwaters property owners, construction personnel and staff members with approved access to the Lakehouse or sleeping cottages. All other use of construction and owner gates is prohibited.

... The Palmetto Bluff Club has an R.S.V.P. policy. If you register for an event and subsequently need to cancel, please contact Nick Dennis at 843.706.6603 or click here. This will be a great help in estimating food and beverage costs. If you do not cancel a reservation for property owner functions, your member account will be charged the per-person fee for that function.
