New Chief Has Extensive Law
Enforcement Background, Investigative Experience
Charles Huggins is the new Director of Security for Palmetto Bluff. A former Supervisory Lieutenant with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Huggins brings more than 27 years of law enforcement and investigative experience to his new position. He is taking a proactive approach in assuring property owners and residents of his commitment to making Palmetto Bluff the safest residential/resort community possible.
“My long tenure in law enforcement has proven where my dedication lies – to uphold the laws and protect citizens in every way possible,” Huggins said. “I sincerely want to make the residents to feel safe not only when at home, but also to feel their property is protected when leaving Palmetto Bluff for extended periods of time. My staff and I will always do our very best to provide the best security to the owners and their property.
Huggins comes well-prepared to serve at Palmetto Bluff, thanks to his background with SLED, which supports county and municipal law enforcement agencies and conducts investigations as directed by the Governor and Attorney General. Huggins’ SLED experience includes criminal investigations, disaster preparedness, and security following Hurricanes Hugo and Katrina.
